I once investigated into the newlines, and found its cause: When you type in exit, and hit enter, the keyboard will send the keydown signal, but is terminated before it sends the keyup signal. You can instead use the menu to exit..

Can you add a feature similar to the xterm -e command option?

Works great on PW. Just installed it. Is there a reason that the xml file wants the layout in
Code:
/mnt/us/extensions/xterm/layout/img/...
instead of kterm?

I just moved it to /mnt/us/extensions/xterm - and start with /mnt/us/extensions/xterm/bin/kterm

I completely forgot that there are absolute paths in the keyboard config files

I think I will patch matchbox-keyboard to take the images path from MB_KBD_CONFIG environment variable.

Anyway great to hear that it works on Paperwhite!

As there is no GUI Launcher for the new firmware yet, you can run it from command line.
The workaround for now would be to add it to debug shortcuts and start it from Search bar, as described here.
