HELP! - Library completley gone

I just discovered that my Library of over 5000 titles is now complete missing when I open Calibre.

This has never happened before.

Everything was fine about one hour ago.

ANY SUGGESTIONS AT ALL?

FOUND IT!

For some reason, the folder was moved int my Vegas Movie Studio folder.

Where does this folder actually go? (Opening calibre still does NOT show my ebooks.)

ADDED: OK, I need to set this back exactly the same way it was before. In Explorer, I have 'Libraries.' Clicking on 'Libraries,' one encounters: Documents, Music, Pictures, Video.

Clicking on 'Documents' I encounter these two folders: My Documents, Public Documents.

Answer: Any place you want it (and can place it);(does not apply to Calibre-Portable: Primary Library)

The default is where you (currently) see it (the new, empty one) for your OS.

If you like that Location, simply delete that one and Move original folder back (This assumes the Original folder has the SAME name) there.
Calibre (and content server) MUST be Not running when you do this.

For some reason, I still can't get calibre to recognize the location of my large calibre library.

A few months ago, I created two calibre libraries - one as a kind of test. This test library (titled 'calibre Library') shows the correct 2 titles. I'm having no problems with that library.

However, with my problem yesterday, my main library of over 5,000 titles is not being recognized. This library (titled 'Nook Calibre Library') also resides in the 'Documents' folder just like the test library mentioned in the paragraph above. (One thing, though: apparently, this folder is inside another folder - one with the exact same name. Don't ask me how that happened, because I have no idea. Anyway, to test whether I could get this large library recognized, I took out one author's folder and copied it OUTSIDE of the double nested folder. This test did not work and this author is not recognized.)

If I do a system restore, will that result in a putting my calibre library back to the way it was?

OR, if I simply copy all these author folders into the test library (remember, the one with two authors, the one that seems to be Ok), will my metadata be compromised?

Any suggestions for a solution would be helpful. But....I'm still wondering why calibre is not recognizing my large library.

Don
with Calibre shut down

1) Rename the Parent folder (any name: XYZ will do)
2) Now drag the real Library folder to the same level as XYZ
Start Calibre and switch to that Library

Exact same name nested folders have caused problems for ages...Not just with Calibre

(BTW You can delete the empty XYZ folder now)
