i like MUSE as well, though it doesn't sound like it would be specific to ebooks.

I suspect MUSE or any variant may be hard to get at this point, but here are the names of specific muses:
* Calliope (the 'beautiful of speech'): chief of the muses and muse of epic or heroic poetry * Clio (the 'glorious one'): muse of history * Erato (the 'amorous one'): muse of love or erotic poetry, lyrics, and marriage songs * Euterpe (the 'well-pleasing'): muse of music and lyric poetry * Melpomene (the 'chanting one'): muse of tragedy * Polyhymnia or Polymnia (the '[singer] of many hymns'): muse of sacred song, oratory, lyric, singing and rhetoric * Terpsichore (the '[one who] delights in dance'): muse of choral song and dance * Thalia (the 'blossoming one'): muse of comedy and bucolic poetry * Urania (the 'celestial one'): muse of astronomy I favor Calliope for this purpose. Of course, calliope.com and calliope.org are both in use already. ![]() So is mu.se. |

arg !
did you check all permutations of muse ? (what do you mean you have work to do ?) perhaps we can come up with some clever way to modify muse, maybe by adding an explicit reference to ebooks for instance... ebookmuse is a bit pedestrian but perhaps it could work... |

Why not just K.I.S.S. it?
![]() As clever as all of these names are, with folks apparently gravitating to MUSE, why not something as simple as E-Finder? The name should capture the essence of the service without making people have to think one millisecond about what it means/does and thereby make it easier to remember. Marketing 101. All of the other names sounds like many of you are letting your Muse run amok ![]() Muse could mean any number of things to any number of people and would involve some explanation. It may get style points for cleverness but still needs additional verbage to say what it does. He isn't launching a new piece of hardware, he's launching a search engine to help all the e-book readers find e-books at the best prices. E-Finder is easy to remember and says what it does, finds electronic material. "Find your next great read at E-Finder" (or EFinder or efinder, you get the point) Just 7 words. ![]() "Find the next great book at E-Finder" "Find your next great story at E-Finder" "Find the next great story at E-Finder" K.I.S.S. it people, K.I.S.S. it. |

ironically, given your post, i must now ask you to engage in additional verbiage to explain what K.I.S.S. means.

efinder.com and e-finder.com are both taken (by those awful domain-sitters) but efinder.org and e-finder.org are both available, looks like.
