Hachette's Casual Vacancy - steep price cut

A casual vacancy fell from $12.74 to $8.28 in many US stores today, while the paperback is still not available and the hardback is $17.49.

An indication of things to to come, or an answer to the 2.9 star rating?

That's just usual supply/demand econ. The user rating on where? I think it's pretty high on goodreads, and the novel (which I personally did not like) has made many top ten lists of 2012.

B&N and Sony both have it for $8.28 in ePub.

I got an email from Kobo about alot of books dropping to $7.99, maybe that's just part of it?

If my TBR weren't so long, I would snatch this up immediately with my Amazon GC's from Christmas. I loved the sample but was unwilling to pay that high price.
