Problem sending book to Sony PRS-T1

I have the latest update of Calibre, and today I added two books to my Calibre library. The first one showed a size of 0.3 MB. When I sent it to my ereader, it worked fine, but when you click on the Device icon, it shows the book having a size of 0.0 MB on the Sony reader. The full book is on the device though. Can anyone tell me why this is happening because I'm afraid that it won't show the accurate free space on my ereader in Calibre.

Probably because your reader cannot handle the book. Do an epub to epub conversion in calibre and then send the file to your reader.

If it's any help I have successfully transferred 300 or so ebooks to my T1 with calibre. I think the problem is more likely with the ebook than with calibre - as I think Kovid is suggesting.

. I have put hundreds of ebooks on my reader using Calibre but have never had this problem before. Like I said, the full book ends up on my reader - it just doesn't show the correct size. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated .

I doubt that calibre uses the reported size of the books to determine how much data to write, although I could be wrong. Chances are it uses a call to the operating system to see how much free space there is.

It is possible to overfill your ereader using calibre, as I did it once by putting on an audio book when I was very low on space (PRS-T1) IIRC the next time I connected the ereader calibre could not write the database, so I had to delete something(probably the audiobook) and all was well again. I would not worry too much about it, but you could check the file itself on the ereader and see what size the operating system reports. Helen |

				I've got the same problem

Searched for assistance with sending books to my grand sons Sony PRS-T1. I am getting a strange symbol where the usual epub symbol is [it looks like a V inside a box] . I am using an external hard drive rather than the computer's disk. Found your thread, for the help, I will now check the device to see if the books are there or not. If they are on the device, I won't worry too much but like 'speakingtohe' I've added a lot of books and never had this problem before.Cheers Robyn PS: I've got Calibre 0.9.11 running and think this program is

Can this eBook that does not work on the T1 be viewed with ADE on your computer?

Thing is, I already have the same books on another Sony ereader and I'm not having any trouble [touch wood] viewing them on my computer in Calibre or on that reader.I cant' believe it, I was working my way through sending you a detailed explanation of what was happening and second time round this morning - it all started working as it should. [Wouldn't do it for me yesterday when I needed it though] ![]() Honest, there really was a problem but it seems to have disappeared!!! I will add, the strange symbol [small grey in the middles with red square around it] beside the epub is still there, but doesn't seem to affect the process now. Something strange happened, but I can live with that for now. Thank you so much for your input and very quick response. Cheers |
