DigiMemo - an alternative book reader?

I found a new gadget named DigiMemo which is primarily used for note taking, but considering it's operating system is windows (well, that might not matter all that much?), one could add ebook readers to it like mobipocket, fbreader and the likes.

One cool thing - it saves the pages as ebook (but a proprietary format). Not a bad price either - sold for about 300 USD in norway.

I don't think it has a screen, just the pressure sensitive overlay that you would find on a touchscreen.

I don't understand what you mean by that. If you can view things on it and you can write things on it - there is certainly a screen there, and an operating system that works mostly like everything else.

1. Take Notes
Place any ordinary paper or notepad on the digital pad. Write on the paper with the digital inking pen. The digital pad digitally records anything you write in its built-in storage device or an optional SD card in real time. One page you write is stored as one digital page.

2. Connect to the PC
Connect the digital pad to your PC by USB port.

3. Organize Your Notes
With its DigiMemo Manager software, you can easily view, edit and organize your digital pages in Windows. You also can use the on-line writing function which can instantly synchronize your writing on the paper with the digital page in its software. Save any digital pages you arbitrarily select as a book file (e-Book).

No where does it say that the device runs Windows or has a screen to recorded content.

I own one of those. It is nice for taking notes, but that's about it. It's good to have a digital backup of my notes without needing to scan them in.

However, it would never be suitable for an ebook reader.

I can't really see how it's worth it if one only can write notes and download it to the computer. I might as well have the computer with me and write my notes there.
