how to do PB 622 / touch backup
hi all,
recently i became an owner of this ebook reader and slowly observe its pluses & minuses (minor) ![]() the e-reader has factory installed FW 3.2.122. i read multiple threads about FW upgrade to version 4.0.373 (resp. other) but haven't found an advice how to make the backup of the system that i have in the reader (i.e. 3.2.122). do you know how to do that? if so please share. it is clear that backup of the content is possible to do by copying the files when e-reader is connected to PC. however i'm not sure if the whole system is also preserved (i guess is not). the version i have in the e-reader (3.2.122) is unfortunately not available anywhere (at least i haven't found it - if you have it please again share). so i hesitate with upgrade to version 4 while i am not able to get back to current system status in case i will not like the version 4 or in case of any problems. thank you in advance krajicek |

Hello and welcome to MR
![]() Backup is not needed, FW update is usually non-destructive to existing systems. All FW versions for PB Touch are available Art PB Homepage, including 3.2 Merry Christmas ![]() |

It can't be done unless you have the official firmware package from PocketBook. You can't read much of the old stuff and put it back later without rooting the device first, and I don't think anyone outside the company knows how to do that at this point.

And don't be too fuzzy about version numbers, there are a lot of different versions of 3.2 on the market and they have (if any) minimal differences.
Nontheless I can't imagine you going back to 3.2 if you had 4.x (three different versions here too) for a few days testing. |
