![]() I had to look up Lundgren (he's a little old now, but physically would have matched Reacher in his younger days). Was surprised to see he's an MIT alum. |

Dolf Lundgren made me think of Rutger Hauer. He's a little short, but a young Rutger might have made a good Reacher.
I just read an article about "Reacher" and they said that Child had no casting approval but was involved in the discussion about who would portray Reacher. To me it sounds like the studio wanted the "star power" of someone like Cruise regardless of whether he fit the part. I think Jason Statham, while a bit shorter, could have made a pretty good Reacher, but apparently the studio must have thought he didn't have the drawing power of Cruise. |

And I was wrong about his MIT degree (hardly ever happens).
![]() His full bio is on Wiki including his academic achievements. He apparently has a Master's in Chemistry and was offered a Fulbright Scholarship to study at MIT, but alas, love got in the way (and his movie career, too, probably). |

Anybody yet read "A Wanted Man"? I finished it the other day. Child must have written it with "the new Reacher" in mind. While Reacher's size remains the same and is mentioned frequently, in fact there is not one single scene that cannot be played by a 5'7" 150 pound whiny-voiced wimp.
![]() Much of the action and/or solution in the previous books have, IMO, involved Reacher's size. This one doesn't. It's also a boring, drawn-out plot. Very sad. ![]() |
