I understand that medicine is not an exact science. I understand that symptoms, particularly pain, can come from a baffling array of sources. What I cannot understand is a medical professional simply GIVING UP on a patient, and referring them to a colleague, who also effectively shrugs and suggests yet another pill. I do not want to mask my symptoms with medicine. I wish to discover the source of the problem, and discuss possible solutions with a competent, caring medical professional!!

THAT's my VENT and RANT for the day. I cannot convey the level of frustration and even anger at having to endure constant pain, and having a neurosurgeon who doesn't want to operate and a neurologist who says he can't do anything else for me "medically". Meaning, what? I'm imaging things? The next specialist I see who asks me to describe the pain, I will punch as hard as I can in the face, and say "Like THAT, plus a toothache... and I'm not imagining it."

Neuralgias are so difficult - you will be in my prayers for strength and recovery. PM me if you want my email address, and I'll be glad to lend a shoulder if you need to unload.

My sister has head-to-toe neuropathy and takes 9 Neurontins a day just to exist. If she is even 1/2 hour late taking a dose, she is in agony. Even the touch of her clothes is unbearable when she missed a dose. The doctors have given up on her also, and don't even pretend to be trying to cure her. They just keep refilling her prescriptions so that she stays doped up enough to make it through the day.

Oh, the Marvin thing was just because Marc needed a robot to make a thread perfect. Marvin was the first to appear in a web search. Then it took on a life of its own here.

Next step is the Mayo Clinic, to see what can be done. Thanks, everyone.

I think that Marc should be required to be at all Meet-ups, just to avoid confusion.

how you think marc's presence will help to AVOID confusion escapes me, but i'll second that anyway (with the next paris meetup in mind...).

unless you're afraid people will start thinking that you and marc are the same person, because you've never been seen in the same room together. but then since marc has that new EVRWR4000 maximum ubiquity transmogrifier i'm not sure that even your simultaneous and geographically synchronised appearance would be convincing. after all, it might just be two of you.
