I'm looking and looking and looking but I cannot find where the camera is?

Any clues?

If you download a compatible camera app off Amazon, you'll be able to use the camera. But there is the ICS camera hidden in the system files. The Nexus 7 handles it the same way too apparently.

You can use ES File Explorer to get to the camera. It's a little cumbersome, but it works.

Oh, es file explorer is great. If you don't use it for the camera finding, at least keep it around for other file stuff.

Agreed. There is so much this app does.

1. Backup your apps into apk using the App Manager. Great for downgrading when a upgrade wont work or you need to factory reset.
2. Use LAN to access your PC or Mac to transfer Files back and Forth.
3. Use NET it to download multiple files or folders from Dropbox, Box and Sugar Sync.
4. It's a File Explorer so you can move, copy, open, delete and rename files.
5. It unzips zip files too!
6. Use it as a Bluetooth file transfer utility.
7. It handles FTP transfer as well.
8. It's Free!

Get the latest version directly from Developer's Site. It auto updates and bypasses markets. This feature I love!

Going to install ES in the morning (thanks).

I'm currently in the process of getting both KindleHDs running super smooth and app'ed/book'ed/music'ed

ready for them on Xmas day.

As others have said using es file explorer works great.

Also this app is a good one!

It gives the user a direct link to the built in system camera app. Without having to dig for it using a file explorer app.

The built in app has some very surprising low light capability's.

The hidden camera app has more function choices. The app that I linked uses part of but not all of the available functions. So far as I can see you still need to use a file explorer to access the full camera app and functions available. To shoot video, panoramic, etc.

Be nice if amazon "unhides' the camera app so it is not so hard to use.

I use the App that looks like a Camera ...Free works great! As for the location its directly across from the 2 cable plugs!

The link above to Amazon support for the KFHD 7" says there IS a built in app for the camera, accessed through the "Photos" tab on the home screen. It says a camera icon will appear in the right corner--but I don't see anything when I go there.

I hadn't seen this particular "help" page before. Is this a flaw in the documentation--perhaps a planned feature that was never programmed? Or, might it be a hint that a software update is coming soon, with this feature implemented?
