How many hours a day do you spend reading?

How many hours do you spend reading on an average day? I mainly mean reading for leisure, but if you want to include reading for work or school, that's fine, of course.

(Hopefully this isn't a repeat thread. I didn't find one when I searched.)

I chose 2, but I think I'm closer to 3 most days. Usually an hour in the morning, an hour at lunch and then whatever time I can squeeze in while cooking and taking a bath.

I think you will see a lot a variation depending on whether someone is a student, a parent with young kids, working, retired. It also varies by the time of year. I read very little in the summer, preferring audiobooks and even movies.

Very true. I generally read a little more in the Winter as compared to the Summer, although I do enjoy reading outside in the Summer on the weekends.

Usually about 2 hours in spurts throughout the day. Whenever I get a few minutes, I pick up my PW and read until interrupted by life.

I would say 6 to 8 hours depending on the read. I usually read about 3 to 6 hours at night on my K4B then around 3-4AM I will read 2 to 3 hours before falling asleep on my Kindle Fire.

I said 3 though it's not unusual for me to spend the whole day reading. I'm reading less right now because I'm busy with a Skyrim mod I'm working on. I read an hour usually during each meal, before bed, during breaks at work, on the bus so 3 is probably the minimum.

Does reading school textbooks count?

I usually read for about 2 hours a day. An hour at lunch, and an hour before bed during the weekday. It used to be only fiction... but now that I'm back to school part-time, most of that time is taken over by reading the school textbooks.

And weekends are always different. Can be anything from 0 to 15 hours, depending on what's planned and what needs to be done.

I choose 3 hours. It totally depends on my work- schedule, witch is very variable. But I think 3 will be close to my avarage. I wish it could be more

I said 2 hours. It is mostly at night before I go to sleep (thus the Kobo Glo is excellent for me).

More in the weekend or at least in those days when I don't have to go somewhere and do stuff.

I would read much more if I could, I used to as a child and teenager.

I really envy those of you that responded 5-6 hours.

I'm retired and read 10-12 hours per day, sometimes more.
