A day later, he immediately leaps forward at the sound of the spark. Strangely, nothing happens. No unexpected explosion of gases triggered by the spark. And then... another click occurs behind pshrynk. Who immediately disappears, falling backwards through a wall that, with the sound of the click, suddenly became swing doors leading into darkness.

Coughing, spluttering, pshrynk stuggles to stand up amidst clouds of dust and dirt.

"Ar-cough-splutter. What the... I'm covered in dirt! I look like a black bear now!!!"

"Serves you right. Shouldn't make jokes about kilts."

With that they peer into the room, which appears to be covered with eons-worth (or two weeks in a teenager's bedroom-worth) of dust and detritius. As the dust settles, and the light gingerly crawls in, they slowly make out details. A pole leading down through a hole in the floor. Another pole also leading down. A door on the side. And a sign bearing the words "Escape Route. Via Bat Cave."

"Brilliant. At last! Okay; are we ready? Good. Checklist:
Provisions: Arbroath Smokie and tablet -- check.
Pandaborg 1/8 and 8/1 -- check.
Reading devices -- check.
Escape team -- check.
Shopping List -- check."

He turns round to address the assembled crowd.

"For this plan to work, you have to keep our escape secret until we're out of here, and then the authorities must be informed. Got that -- good."

"1/8 and 8/1, team -- To the Bat Cave. (Ohhh I've wanted to say that for ages...)"

With that the two pandaborg advance to the poles, grasp them and descend into the darkness. And as they go down various sounds of discomfort filter back up.

"Hmmm. Friction burns. I think we shall take the elevator." And with that the team press the previously unseen call button and the door on the side of the newly revealed room opens to an elevator, bearing a just readable sign at the back saying "this lift is the virtual property of mobile read", and playing most soothing abba-esque elevator music. Whilst the group descend Zelda glares at the speaker from which the dulcet tones eminate, resulting in the speaker croaking into silence.

As the lift doors open, the two pandaborg are waiting. The first is now wearing a batman outfit that is really somewhat too small for it; the second is wearing a Robin outfit that, well, is causing some reshaping to take place. The second pandaborg points at the pole, and in a threatening, meanacing if somewhat high-pitched voice says
"You will be acutelated."

"An acutelated pole? Whatever. To the Bat-Escape-PickUp-Truck everyone."

And with that our intrepid group make their bid for freedom, if only temporarily.

i thought the first errand was "get llamas" ? that's at the top of my list, anyway.

(by the way, add to list "slingshot for that speaker in the elevator, just in case.")

I retreat from the lounge for a few days and return to utter anarchy.....so nice to see that nothing has changed! Did anyone mention paper towels? What about referencing item #8 a second time?

Oh heck .... you just spray some WD-40 under your armpits and on your crotchity areas, and then cover both with duct tape.

That's why the duct tape is sooooo freaking important!!!

It's like the Force: it has a Light Side, and a Dark Side, and it holds the Universe together.

If it does move, and shouldn't, use duck tape.

If it doesn't move and should, use WD-40.

For all other things, use a bigger hammer...

Right. Right. Here's my life vest. And my flashlilght. Is this just another drill, becasue I have important work to be avoiding.

Oh! LS! I think Taylor actually wanted a case of watch batteries. We keep forgetting to plug him in at night and he feels more secure if he has a pocketful of those just in case.

I hate to ask, kind people. Could you perhaps add just a wee bit o' bacon to your list? A pound or two would do nicely. Thank you.
