It's not a surprise though. Many elderly die from blood clots encouraged by too much inactivity. My suggestion would be to (a) get up and walk around every 45 minutes or so and (b) do more audiobooks while getting exercise. I used to have trouble with the ear plugs coming out until last month. Best Buy carries sports ear plugs that wrap around your ears. Gives plenty of noise cancelling, good sound and they stay put in the ear. I had no problem raking leaves the other day!

You do a regular desk job or something like that easily 6 hours a day, then maybe 30 minutes each way to work with car or public transport 7 hours. That leaves around 4 hours to sit and watch tv or read. And the time spend in work not standing up might be even longer.

Really does depend what kind of work you do.
