Coke Zero #1. After a breakfast of homemade honey & walnut wholemeal bread and bought smoked salmon. It was delicious.

I'm celebrating again tonight. Two different editors bought my photos and articles from this week's trip! I figure that's worth another glass of Bombay Sapphire. Then tomorrow morning it's back to work... 8km walk planned on low calorie meals. I really went hog-wild on my trip, ate every breakfast at McD's (I LOVE the sausage/egg McMuffin!) and ate Oreo cookies and potato chips (crisps) in my hotel room at night... But I actually was missing the long walks and the low calorie eating. I guess my brain did do some changing too!

Coffee in my tigger cup as I try to gather my thoughts for the morning lessons. Running camera at church today so really need to shake cobwebs out some...probably should not have taken advantage of the extra hour last night to finish reading "The Princess Bride" heh.

Coffee with a packet of hot chocolate, a dash of milk and spoonful of sugar. Mostly drained and cold after having to re-install my iTouch with iOS 6.0.1 and iTunes 7. Thank Og they solved the Calibre issue.

![]() Out where a friend is a friend Where the longhorn cattle feed On the lowly gypsum weed Back in the saddle again Ridin' the range once more Totin' my old .44 Where you sleep out every night And the only law is right Back in the saddle again ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSqcx...eature=related ) Good morning, all! Back to healthy lifestyle again, and my Keemun tea out of the proper mug beside a bowl of rice, crab legs, pickled veggies, and miso soup. I'm actually enjoying it more than the MegaMcMuffins I was eating while away. (Are they selling that where you are? TWO sausage pattys, a fried egg, a slice of cheese, two rashers of bacon, all on an English Muffin. Just don't let them put catsup on it and it tastes pretty damn good!) Long walk planned for today to get my legs moving again. The only exercise I got while on the shoot was getting on and off my bike and setting up the tripod over and over all day. Stop and go, stop and go. I'm looking forward to getting into a fast walking rhythm for an hour or two. Damn! I never even thought to set up the timer to shoot it. I was too worried about hitting my head on the ceilings. It's a LOT easier to bounce up and down on a bed (while standing up, that is) when you are only 3 1/5 feet tall. Add another few feet and the ceilings begin to pose a problem. One more cup of Keemun tea, and I'm off to join the circus... the rush hour circus that is... I'm taking the train into downtown Osaka to do some shopping, but I'm getting off the train several kilometers from the shopping area just to give me more walking room. Stitchawl |

The last of my Lion Mountain Keemun today. This is an excellent Keemun for the price, and a good Keemun to try if you want a reliable Keemun that has the nose and varietal character of a premium Keemun without an extortionate price. Yes, you can get better versions, but at a significantly different price point.

An Assam tea from the East India Company... afternoon delight that doesn't upset my wife!
Tomato or 'Cream of Tomato?' Cream of Tomato with a big handful of crushed-up Saltine crackers used to be my #1 favorite soup. I haven't had it in years though, but just today I saw Campbells Tomato soup for sale and was giving it some serious consideration... Stitchawl |

Rooibos in my cup while I seriously consider the "intermittent fasting" diet. We watched the BBC programme last night called Horizon: Eat, Fast and Live Longer, and after investigating the various studies related to fasting and health benefits, the presenter, Michael Mosley, settled on the 5:2 fasting diet, which means eating normally for 5 days of the week, and fasting for 2 days. And by fasting, it means eating 500 calories on the fast day for a woman, or 600 for a man, so hardly starvation. This looks like something I could do quite easily, and would be less onerous than calorie counting all the time.
The results of this diet speak for themselves: "I stuck to this diet for 5 weeks, during which time I lost nearly a stone and my blood markers, like IGF-1, glucose and cholesterol, improved. If I can sustain that, it will greatly reduce my risk of contracting age-related diseases like cancer and diabetes." As he says on the programme, the benefits of fasting are unproven currently, but having seen footage of the 101 year-old Sikh man, who eats about half the calories of a normal male diet, run a marathon, I am beginning to get interested. |

After four days of travel, and eating all sorts of bad stuff (McDs, cookies, pizza, hot dogs, fried chicken, chips AND crisps, plus two cans of Coke each evening,) in large quantities, it felt really GOOD to go back to eating less than 1000 calories. I walked 8km today, at a fast clip, then jogged up six flights to my apartment. I confess to breathing heavier while unlocking the door. But not much heavier. Stitchawl |

Today is going to be a fast day for me. So far I have had one cup of Rooibos and a small apple. Just looking for online calorie calculators to help keep track. |
