I don't know what country you are in (or will be vacationing in). In the US, I bought a Sony AC adapter/charger for the T1. It was rather pricy - you may be able to find another brand that would work as well.

All you need is the right size of USB cable - I bet one came with the T1 - and a simple plug with a USB socket like the following:- http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/usb-mains...ter-p10521.htm Tony |

I find the selection offered in the Sony store too limiting.
100% AGREE! I get most from Amazon then use Calibre to convert them & put on SDCard so I can read on both! I Really Disapointed in Sony... Will not get another Sony eReader Not worth the headache of getting Decent Reading Material LOL |

But they are neat and light - and often not too expensive. Tony |

Agreed, but Calibre is free and it gives you access to all the store formats.

Read around the Calibre forum here. Calibre cannot admit they remove DRM but their users seem to manage it somehow.

But being ePub based, you can buy anywhere. It isn't like it used to be when they had their own proprietary format and DRM. You aren't locked into the Sony store. You also do not have strip DRM if you buy in epub from anywhere.
Calibre itself doesn't. It is a third party plugin for calibre that does. Last edited by Hellmark; 11-02-2012 at 03:11 PM. |

As Hellmark said, you can buy your epubs from any place that sells them. B&N has their own DRM, so if you can't remove DRM, I would avoid going there.
As far as charging your T1, I use my phone charger to do it. Plug the mini/usb end into the reader and the other end into a wall socket. It is pretty simple. |

The T1 isn't using the newer adobe sdk that supports b&n? I thought it would be new enough.
Well anyway, the only places to avoid buying from then are Apple's iBooks, B&N, and Amazon. Amazon would require DRM stripping and format shifting. B&N would require DRM stripping at worst. iBooks would require DRM stripping, and is a giant pain (I think they finally cracked ibooks DRM, but it requires a iPhone/ iPad/ ipod touch) Last edited by Hellmark; 11-02-2012 at 04:15 PM. |

Kobo has a thread on the Deals forums where everyone posts any valid coupon codes they've gotten. Unless the book is agency priced, there's usually a discount that can be applied pretty much all the time. Their site sucks to search for books though so I usually "browse" on Books on Board or Amazon and then check to see if Kobo has them and then if I can get a better price with a coupon code, that's often where I end up getting it.
