Those wimps, we get 4-6 typhoons every year and nobody even bats an eyelash. And they stop a tablet introduction for a little hurricane?

About 2 weeks or so.

The Nexus 7 was unveiled on June 27, 2012, and became available for pre-order through Google Play on the same day. Shipping commenced in mid-July to Australia, Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom. In late August, Google released the Nexus 7 in France, Germany, and Spain, with other countries to follow.

And it's only a Cat 1 hurricane. That would be just a little rain storm here in Florida. We don't get excited until it's at least a Cat 4.

Three storm systems converging likely to produce 8-12 inches of rain. Also, the storm surge will hit at high tide that will cause the tidal rivers to overflow. Already, the river is cresting the bulkheads.

I live across the street from mandatory evacuations. Police knocked on their doors to get them to leave.

I wonder if they'd be allowed to sell them before the official announcement. They were supposed to be available on the 30th, but with the event postponed, you'd expect Google to tell stores to hold back.

We had one earlier this year that dumped 7 feet in 24 hours in some mountain areas. 2-3 feet in 24 hours is pretty much the norm. And the storms in the Pacific are always much bigger than hurricanes since they have much more open sea to develop and grow. But deaths are very rare (probably because people don't live right next to the ocean and houses are usually very solid, not built of wood). The only time there were a lot of deaths was when a giant mudslide wiped out some villages and 700 people died a few years ago.

But most people like the big storms, helps us to cool off and we get most of our water this way, it is collected in several reservoirs.
