You might call nearby stores and verify that. BB online is infamous for getting store stock incorrect.

I bought one from BB.. (Sunday 10/21) bad.. the one from Amazon came in today.. Awesome.. totally different Animal from the one I picked up at BB.. so I think Amazon corrected the problem with on-line orders and BB was stuck with the first Batch of Bad ones.. just my 3 cents..

That's great! I'm so glad you're pleased. What was wrong with the one you picked up from Best Buy? Did it have the color hue problem?

Yes.. the first one from BB had some color hue problems in daylight and at night with lights off in Bedroom with the light adjustment on the KPW turned down to a comfortable shade and reading delight, it was very Blobby and uneven at the bottom of the screen.. unacceptable to say the least.. the new one I got today from Amazon direct is great.. some glo from the LED's at the bottom but hardly noticeable.. more like my NOOK Glo but better.. better contrast etc.. IT'S a KEEPER.. more like what I expected..

That is good news I'm expecting my 2nd and last replacement tomorrow I also hope I get lucky. Oh and they said they would check it before shipping FWIW considering they promised the first replacement would be perfect.

I think you may get a good one.. the bad batches are gone except the ones stored in the BB warehouse which were of the first of the production line.. that is kinda what my thinking is..

I bought a PW at BB last Friday evening, and so far have no complaints. As is normal, I do see the alternating shadows and light bands at the very bottom of the screen, but do not find this to be annoying. There are no color blotches that I can see after four days of heavy use in varying light conditions. The first night, I thought I saw some pinkish blotches, but realized that they moved together as I moved my eyes and head, and were simply because I had not dimmed the light enough. Staring into the bright white screen in the dark produced the same effect as staring at a bright light bulb and then looking away. My only other (mild) complaint is how heavy the reader is. In the official case, it weighs slightly more than my Sony T-1 does in its lighted case with a AAA battery. I guess the internal battery must be significantly bigger. No big deal though.

I picked mine up at BB on Monday. I'm still trying to figure out if I got one of the bad ones..there seems to be a green swirl in the upper/middle right portion of the screen.

Already upgraded the special offers off and my ink blue cover just arrived. I'm going to give it a few days and see if the glue is drying or if i got a lemon.

So far the "white" claim isn't panning out in bright sunlight. It looks just like my K4NT and I can't tell the difference with the light on or off in the FL sun.

Since disabling special offers isn't normally transferable/refundable, I'm waiting until the return period ends before I do it. Even if I intend to the keep the one I have.

I would like to do that but I have a 60 day return period. I'm not sure if I can wait that long.

There's been a couple of people on here who returned their PW's and were able to get the 20.00 refunded for the SO's. So it's worth trying.
