I canceled two PW orders. I'm sticking with the KF HD and my K4B for now.

Got my new Marware case and TravelFlex light for my KK. I won't lie, this setup feels very bulky, but the screen looks so much better than my PWs. Sigh. Maybe the Kobo Glo will come through.

I've had things not show up in Cloud on my Fire, but they are still in my library. I just go to Manage Your Kindle page and send from there. I've never seen anything disappear from my library, free or otherwise. And apart from Fire (and maybe the Android app) I've not seen issues or had anything actually disappear from the cloud storage. Kindle Keyboard used to have a limit (~3000) on number of titles that could be shown in Archived Items. That's been fixed, apparently. |

The iPad mini has 7.9" screen at 1024*768 pixels = 162 ppi. That's not particularly impressive for reading. It looks nice, but screen wise it is a year behind the Fire HD and similar 7" tablets with their 216 ppi resolution. It is certainly a good choice for those wanting a smaller iPad for web surfing, etc. I don't think it will be very good as an eBook reader though. I suspect the iPad mini 2 will have retina and then it will be a terrific reader. I just ordered the Fire HD as my night reader. The iPad mini just doesn't do it for me, especially at $329. And the Nexus 7 just doesn't have the Kindle reader app's bells and whistles that come with the Fire HD. Since the Fire HD will only be used for reading, it seems like my best option for now. Let me know how you like it. I plan to get mine around my Birthday. I had originally plan to get it in a couple weeks but thanks to my doctors I now have to use that money as copay for a procedure instead.

I know what you mean by the copay. The older I get the more I feel like an old worn out car that spends more time in the mechanic shop than in my garage!

Good luck with the Fire HD, Jack. Let us know what you think. I love my Kindle Fire and the HD Fire looks super nice from what I have seen. I think you'll really like it for night reading. Quote:
