But then we wouldn't be able to clone him. That's an easy way to get chicken and that way we can see how tasty he is. If that's the case, we can then go after the original because we've confirmed that he will be tasty!

Wait, in that case it would be better to just capture him and use him to provide us with endless tasty chickens. He can live a long and productive life, safe inside the cloning machine.
