I see several hundred Americans a day working in a restaurant on the Alaskan highway. The special sign lists homemade roll and the most frequent question I get asked is "what is a homemade roll?". Helen

I just ordered one of these: http://coylscustomcreations.com/ Similar to the Book Beanie, but I liked the fact that I could customize the fabric and embroidery. |

I would rather have someone READ at the table, than watch the TV At least I can converse with the non-reader without yelling over the Tube |

An advantage to living in Japan; Chopsticks! You only need one hand to eat almost any meal so the other hand is free to hold my Sony. I ALWAYS read while eating if I'm alone. I never read if I am eating together with other people I know, but will when eating alone in restaurants. Stitchawl |

But maybe I should practice. I normally don't read and eat unless I am at my desk for lunch (I try to avoid this) where I will set it to the side and read. On the rare occasions when I am at home alone for a meal I tend to eat at the couch and read while watching TV or listening to a ball game. I need to get all the bad habits together so I can maximize the rare opportunities!

When I read paper books when eating I often cut up meat in small pieces so I could eat with just a fork.

I have Tuff-Luv cases for both my readers - these come with a stand so they can be stood up at a comfortable angle, usually to the left of my plate. Only significant problem is if I get a whiplash effect when eating spaghetti.

I read everywhere (I make a conscience attempt not to read when I'm with others) when I'm in the position to do so. Pictures are my kitchen table and eating out at OUTBACK. My iPad gets around.

I'm with HarryT -- I'm not familiar with an "eating table." What do they eat and how often do they need to be fed? For just a second there, I thought everyone was suggesting there might be some sort of special table that they sit down at specifically at meal-times ... but then I realized how crazy that would be. |
