The squirrels are doing their annual thing of stripping the pecan tree in our side yard. They are getting sooo fat and carrying so many nuts that when they jump onto the roof, it makes a heavy, solid "thud" when then land. If they land on the air conditioner, it sounds like someone threw a brick at it!

Not here .... the property around here is classified as an "animal sanctuary." No guns ... no death rays ... unless you want to kill a human being, then I think it may be allowed.

Yeah .... lucky for us there aren't any human beings around here. Just cats, pandas, armadillos, dogs, ducks, paranoid androids, .... stuff like that.

YOu know, some of those pandas are kinda human-like........I'm just saying.........

Sometimes, some of those pandas can be downright mean and nasty too. Oh, sorry --- that's "scary".

Squirrels. Ughh. (Well the grey ones we get in our garden. The few red squirrels left in the UK are really nice...)

We get them in our garden, after the apples, and the bird food (yes, we get sparrows...). I, not knowing better, went out into the garden with a long stick to try and scare it off (the stick was in case having a demented LazyScot charging at it didn't scare it off

). I arrived at tree. It looked at me. I looked at it. I waved my stick at it. It grabbed the stick. It jumped on the stick. It then jumped on my head. Demented dance ensued for a few seconds. Squirrel then jumped back to tree.

Beaten by a small furry rodent. Not a high point in my life.

I now use a hose, but could I please have the death ray as soon as it is free.

They are evil.

oh thanks for that hilarious mental image !! see, this is why i like squirrels : you can't beat the comedy stylings of a squirrel for sheer entertainment value. there's a story you should read...

you and patricia (and my dad, but he's not in the UK) would have a lot to talk about.
