				Site is slow posting messages

I'm noticing the site is slow sometimes when posting messages. Anyone else noticing this? Is this something that can be fixed?

I've noticed it for the past few days. Sometimes when I post my browser just sits there spinning, but if I open a new tab and check the post has already been made.

I've experienced this, too. First noticed it on Sunday, I think.

Yes, I have noticed this the last few days, also. Sometimes up to about 30 seconds.

From what I have read on another forum using the same software, the slowdown could be attributed to the "What are you reading now thread" due to the huge number of messages. I think if we were to split that thread into smaller threads and limit the number of posts in each thread, things might pick up once again.

I had only noticed it occasionally the last few days. The larger threads have been around for quite a while and don't seem to have slowed the posted speeds previously. Today the posting has been back to normal speed for me, except for one post which hung for a while before going through. |

I experienced it too. We have a couple of very large threads and they haven't cause any issues so far. I am not sure what is causing this occasional delay. The only recent server changes occurred 1-1/2 months ago when we were forced to revert a previous upgrade. We're going to dig into this further and will keep you posted. |

Btw, those of you who are aware of this feedback thread, next time you experience a slow down, if you don't mind, make a quick post noting it in this thread. Having the time of the slow down can help us track down what's causing it. |

We temporarily disabled access to our replication database server to find out if it's somehow related to the recent slow-down/double post issues. Let's see how it goes.
