You should remove the "gateway" field (unless you intend to use the Kindle to forward your PC packets for you).
But that does not fix the (if true) case of the missing dropbear files. Why not try telnet? If that gets scrubbed from the file system, then it may be time to start editing that md5sum manifest file to include our choice of add-ons (and/or find a better place to put them in the file system). |

At least in the case of the K4, the user storage is mounted at the same place in the file system both in "main" and "diags" -
Put your telnet enabled Busybox for the K3 in /mnt/us, figure out a way to start it (inetd?) when in "diags" mode. Hey, it worked for MacArthur, by-pass the islands too strongly held. |

This is part of why I like talking to the bare hardware (I/O registers and such). No version conflicts or missing dependencies... Last edited by geekmaster; 10-01-2012 at 02:57 PM. |

I hear you. bare is nice and neat, but having looked around a bit this version is actually pretty damn tidy compared to some of the chuff out there.
That should break that back of it. Surely. |

the wad file is not loading. ln -s it. or just dump it (prboom.wad) in /usr/share/games/doom/prboom.wad
I cant remember the command line for it. I'll go look it up. Last edited by twobob; 10-02-2012 at 03:17 AM. |

Looking at it now. I appear to have just dumped it to /usr/share/games/doom/prboom.wad
I'm checking the docs now for the command line wad switch http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/.../prboom.6.html Quote:

This is what I was using:
Code:
[root@[192_168_15_244] /]# ls -al /usr/share/games/doom/
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 8192 Oct 1 11:53 .
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 8192 Oct 1 11:53 ..
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4196020 Oct 1 11:50 doom1.wad
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 13431132 Oct 1 11:47 freedm.wad
It fails loading the default prboom.wad (which I do not have) but then appears to succeed on doom1.wad (see my previous post). EDIT: It is working now. I needed prboom.wad instead of doom1.wad. Thanks. This will be great dithered (to get rid of the grayscale update severe flickering). I will get on that within the next two days or so... Last edited by geekmaster; 10-01-2012 at 03:41 PM. |

yeah. definitely
just dump them both on the main drive for now. I cant get the -iwad flag to work either atm. looks like I just linked them mntroot ro [root@kindle lib]# cd /usr/share/games/doom (mkdir if required) [root@kindle doom]# ln -s /mnt/us/usr/share/games/doom/doom1.wad doom1.wad [root@kindle doom]# ln -s /mnt/us/usr/share/games/doom/prboom.wad prboom.wad mntroot rw |
