I'll nominate The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks. Still my favourite of his (and I have a personally signed copy )

But when news comes of Eric's escape from the hospital Frank has to prepare the ground for his brother's inevitable return - an event that explodes the mysteries of the past and changes Frank utterly.

Wow, folks. I had no idea the nominations for horror would go so slow. We may end up with less than 10 choices this month. That's not a bad thing, just surprising.

I can't third it now, but I would love to read The Wasp Factory; I just wasn't sure how well it fit this month's genre.
