I have been using Calibre to send books to my kindle 2 and 4 but suddenly shows a communication error?

The reader has no storage card in this slot.

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 62, in run
File "site-packages\calibre\gui2\device.py", line 364, in _upload_books
File "site-packages\calibre\devices\usbms\driver.py", line 234, in upload_books
File "site-packages\calibre\devices\usbms\device.py", line 845, in _sanity_check
ValueError: The reader has no storage card in this slot.

What to do? Am quite new at this so pls explain in detail.

Right click on the sen to device button in calibre and change the default send to device action back to "send to main memory"

Ok I've done this but now some of the books I download do not appear on my kindle altho they appear in the kindle main memory on calibre. I notice that these are all AZW3, EPUB format. The MOBI, EPUB books load fine. Pls help.

Your kindle probably needs its firmware updated to support azw3. If you dont want to update its firmware (or you have an older kindle which has no firmware update), right click on the Kindle icon in calibre, select configure this device and remove azw3 from the list of formats to send to the device. calibre will then automatically convert the azw3 to mobi before sending it.

Hi Kovid
No luck. Do I have to delete all the books from "on device" in calibre and resend them? The autoconvert window doesn't come up if I right click on "send to device" and select the main memory?
