I use SmartPad. It does a good job of tasks and events, allowing you to make plans that have subtasks. It also allows you to take notes and make those into todos or events.

I use Awesome Note for taking notes, scribbling, writing, organising my calendar and alarm clock.

I use the 2 todo task list method I got from Lifehacker. It's about simplifying the tasks you do in just 2 lists - daily and weekly. That way you wouldn't have to think about juggling a lot of lists and even paying for expensive software. I've been trying it out and it works pretty well for me.

I like OmniFocus and Smalltask. Both sync with my mac. The former is pretty elaborate (and expensive but on sale right now I believe), while the beauty of the latter is its simplicity.

I bought Opus Domini a few days ago. I am very happy with the way it shows tasks and appointment on the same screen to plan your day and week, and you can also add daily notes. There is a lot of room for improvement. In my opinion they have become trapped in trying to emulate a physical agenda. The interface does look nice and familiar, but an iPad is not an agenda. I used to have a beautiful red leather Filofax organizer. My iPad can never replace this as an object, but it can be much more useful. I feel the developers are failing to take advantage of the potential of a tablet. But really, I'm bitching because I like this app very much, I only think it could be a lot more. There is a free version so I would recommend trying it and seeing for yourselves. IMO all the useful functionalities are present in the free version, except that it's limited to 10 or 20 tasks. The other functionalities of the app (mission, goals, compass) are not very useful to me, but I suppose it's a matter of opinion. The contact tab is nice except that it sorts contacts by first name. I've been following this thread and I want to thank you all for the great suggestions! I sampled almost all the apps mentioned and my favorite so far is Awesome Note; I love that it has Calendar/Note-taking/Reminder capabilities all in one app, as I don't like switching between apps for these different functions.
For those of you using it, what is the difference between the lite and paid versions? I compared the app store pages for both versions and the descriptions are exactly the same except the lite version has this disclaimer: *** Awesome Note Lite version allow to generates up to 10 notes. What does this mean exactly? What does it consider to be notes? In All Notes I have more than 10 notes and it's working fine ![]() I have no problem paying for the upgraded version but I'm wondering if I really need it ... |

I don't know the answer to your question. Maybe the limit of 10 notes is for each tab? I bought the paid version a while ago so I don't remember what the difference was. |

I make all kinds of lists in Grocery IQ. Some for stores naturally. We have a summer place and I make a 'store' for that and put in items I have to bring when we go there. I also have a 'wine list' where I enter wines we have bought, where we bought them, the price and how we liked them. Many possibilities. Carol |

There is a 50% sale on SmartPad Organizer until the end of this month. Since it's not a cheap app by iTunes standards, the price drop is tempting. I am hesitating though, because reviews are mixed to say the least. It seems that a few people love it, and the rest find it buggy and slow. Also, I can't buy it right now because I haven't upgraded yet to iOS6, and the latest version is only compatible with 6. I still have a few days to decide...

Astrid is pretty good. However I just simple use Evernote for note taking, Reminder & Calendar for tasks.
