Thanks for the help and feedback.

It all worked correctly when I used the 3.2.1 update on my 3.3 unit I just missed the 3.2.1 file the first time in the instructions, once I was told it was there it was a breeze. |

And I can't really do better than the big, red, bold 'you too, on 3.3' header to the spoiler that I added a while back... -_-"

Maybe just Kindle 3.3 users should use the 3.2.1 file |

Is there a listing somewhere on this thread of all the FONTS with their respective pictures to show what they like?

I might be missing it so forgive me if I have. If someone could just point me in the right direction - that would be helpful! |

I too applied the wrong one this time round . It's very easy to do, in my case I simply didn't look at the file I copied across and assumed it was the 3.2.1 one.

best advice. double check is all ![]() @chilady1 (I don't know of single link to a comprehensive "fonts preview") |

@DavidMcC: I'm planning on rewriting (at least) part of the doc for the next release, I'll see if I can come up with something better.. Thanks for the idea

.@chilady1: As twobob said, not really, especially because a screenshot is not that accurate since we're not watching it on an E-Ink screen here . (Granted, it gives you an idea, but then so does checking out the font with your OS's font previewer). That said, there are a few screenshots for some of the font sets attached to the first few posts.

Hi all, I got a new Kindle 4 (the black one) - FW 4.1 - I tried all methods to get the screensaver folder, but was not succesful: Jailbreak (Error U007), copying RUNME.sh, data.tar.gz and so on...maybe the hacks don't work on the new KIndle 4 (black)? Thank's for your help! Kalja

@Kalja: The doc isn't updated for the K4 yet on the JailBreak front. See my answer to your other post.

And here's the promised update! JailBreak v0.11.N, Fonts v5.2.N, SS v0.28.N, USBNet v0.40.N.

As usual for Fonts/SS/USBNet, updated binaries, and the K4 & K4B support announced earlier & properly documented this time. And as a bonus, thanks to a eureka moment in the shower (yeah, that happened.), an update to the K3 JailBreak that finally kills the annoying whitelist system, and instead relies on a fast autodetection method (without unpacking the update once ourselves) . [Granted, there's a 0.78% chance of a false-positive against an official update, but given that we can pretty much say that these devices are EOL, we should be good ^^].

I'm currently fixing a couple of issues related to the whole KF8/browser thing, so you might want to wait for the next version if you intended to play with that...

			Okay, hotfix Fonts 5.3.N & SS 0.29.N!

Sorry about that, I knew there was something I had forgotten to test... ![]() Provided you're using the browser/kf8 feature, this should fix a whole lot of mess: * Don't break the browser & KF8 reader when doing an autoreboot * Don't break the browser & KF8 reader when doing an update (one that touches the fonts, like 3.4, or an update of the fonts hack itself) * Don't forget that we're using the browser/kf8 tweaks when doing an upgrade (which in turn lead to the previous issues) And probably some other weird stuff. It should be a lot more robust in handling fontconfig stuff without breaking the stuff that depends on it .

I thought I'd try the screensaver hack before moving on to the other modifications.

Is there a version that works with the new FW 3.4 on a stock K3g (B006)? Jailbreak hasn't been installed, nor has anything else. |

@Prestidigitweeze: Er, not sure what you're not getting exactly, but, let's cover all bases:

	* You *need* the jailbreak in order to be able to do anything * And, yes, everything works fine on 3.4 |
