This new iPhone looks really nice. I think some forget that the last 10% of ensuring an engineered design actually works well, usually takes over 50% of the total effort. That said, the price is just too damn high and the walls are way, way too high for me.

But for the Nano... Now Apple is copying Microsoft?

The nano looks more like a Nokia Lumia than a Zune IMO.

I'm happy with the new specs, and will be interested to see what the battery life is like in the real world.

I've been thinking of upgrading my iPhone 3 for a year or so, and this seems the perfect time. If you wait long enough between phone generations, it's a BIG deal to upgrade to the latest generation. I'm sure I'll love the speed, graphics, and faster browsing.

My 3 is old enough AT&T unlocked it and I've been with StraightTalk for a few months now, dirt cheap compared to AT&T. Any idea if the cheaper prepay providers will be able to run the 5 when it comes out? I'd like to pay the full price and go with a cheaper provider if possible.

Here's the reply I received from StraightTalk:

As of the moment, we do not have available SIM card that can activate an
Iphone 5 with Straight Talk service. Nevertheless, be assured that we
are doing our best to provide you the best service possible, and we are
continually working on improving and expanding our products and
services.

Bummer. Looks like I'll have to find another provider for the 5.

The entire package. The worldwide Android userbase is not majority made up of highend devices.

So, this is how I see it: with the release of the iPhone 5 Apple are finally admitting that the glass back idea was stupid, the screen was always too small and a proper 16:9 aspect ratio is better.
