That's just rationing it out over an 8 week period.
You can read all you want unless you are actually going to be away from any power source for 8 weeks straight.

So True !

I read 5 to 8 hours a day lately it been about 6 hours. The thing is I use the Kindle Fire which sucks out battery when reading. So I have to charge every 3 days if I read on it 3 hours a night. My K4 is every two weeks. I don't think I will have a problem.

You have to take in book library, font size and page turns on how much battery you will really get.

I don't know about the KPW's battery life yet, but I have used the Nook GlowLight for a solid month without charging, reading daily for over 1/2 hour each day.

I don't think Nook uses Indexing like a Kindle does. Most of your battery goes out as the index gets bigger the slower the Kindle is.

Hey, there's a good reason for the 2 Gig (1.2 Gig?) memory...fewer books to index.

I've never even came close I have about 175 books on my Kindles. My K4 has 2GB (1.25) storage It works for just fine. I use the Personal Documents Cloud for non Amazon books. That is 5GB of storage so It all works out. I do think limited storage could be because if you ever put tons of books on your Kindle they crawl!

I used to keep less than 10 ebooks on my K4. But ever since they buried the wifi on/off switch in the menu, I now keep around 20~30 ebooks on it to avoid turning it on as much as I did before.

I had my original K3 slightly over half full and it became very sluggish. I won't try that again.

I totally agree with keeping only a few dozen books on a Kindle. I see no need other than ego to put several thousand books on an eInk Kindle.

First, there is no way a person will read several thousand books before the Kindle dies of old age.

Second, the Collections feature is so limited that you would have trouble finding a particular book with that many on the Kindle.

Third, you couldn't use the kindle for a research tool, not with that many books. A lot of grad students might be tempted to try, but the Kindle simply isn't fast enough, powerful enough, or have the right feature set to work with a vast library of books as far as research goes.

Fourth, the indexing is brutal with that many books and will slow the Kindle down to a crawl.

I have 291 on my K3/3G. I know, a year's supply. I want to read them all right away! But obviously, I can't. I guess I'll take some off (again)

I believe it was the K-2 that became sluggish on me when it started becoming too full. Now the majority of my books reside on my PC, backed up on an external hard drive and Carbonite.

...and somewhere along the way they somehow lost their DRM encoding.
