Almost lost my head for real when my husband found out I had ordered the Samsung 7" Tab (get it tomorrow - Amazon Prime). He said he didn't want the Kindle Fire for his birthday.

(Well, I tried.) He did the same thing when I tried to give him the PocketBook 360+ and now he loves it and uses it all the time so....I'm hoping he'll come around.
Yeah, I looked into the Nexus 7, but the defective/broken screens scared me off and I really wanted a micro sd card slot since unlike most people in the world I don't have really decent access to the internet.
It's a bummer that you can't install apps to the sd card though.

You can move the data to it. I'm not sure how that works really, only started doing it myself since I have 100+ apps on my S2 Skyrocket now.

And yeah, one of the main reasons I'm not looking at the 7 either. You get what you pay for.

Why are you suffering from buyer's remorse? It's a terrific tablet and the Student Edition is a terrific bundle. I've surprised myself with how much I am enjoying it. Quality keyboard, support for bluetooth mouse, media-packed 32GB microSD card, the thing is very enjoyable to use.

BTW, what is the deal with the keyboard? It is quite heavy, yet contain no battery. I don't mind it being heavy when using it, nice stability, but it sure weighs down the backpack when transporting it.

Finally got it late yesterday and when you remove the items from the box, the box itself is very heavy, and, yes, the keyboard is heavy, but slick as can be.

So far I really like the light weight and thinness of the Galaxy Tab itself though. The white color is awesome.

Still getting acquainted with it. I really miss the Go Launcher EX interface. May have to install it. Do you have to remove the Samsung interface before installing Go Launcher?

No, you just install it from the Play Store and it should work out of the box.

Thought I'd post an update.
First, I absolutely LOVE the Galaxy Tab 2! I can't believe how much better it is than the Kindle Fire in nearly every way. It has 2 cameras, gps, bluetooth, you can use a micro sd card in it and connect USB thumb drives and powered USB drives AND it works as a remote for your TV. It is also much much faster than the Kindle Fire...I'm judging by how fast I can copy large files from one folder to another in ES Explorer.

I'm still discovering more that it does.

I also have decided so far to not install Go Launcher EX because I have fallen in love with the Touchwiz interface.

Awesome, awesome tablet....no buyer's remorse at all.
