Here is what I don't get.
Why speed up the high end HD with LTE and then strangle it with a 250 MB data plan?
The only reason I can see is that streaming from Amazon will not be included in that data plan, otherwise it doesn't make sense.

Just ordered a special offers Paperwhite! Very timely for me because a friend sat on my K3 (I had placed it on my camp chair) while I was kayaking over Labor Day weekend and broke the screen. It was 5 months out of warranty. Getting a better Kindle for less money softened the blow.
