How are the legal regulations/provisions in the States? In Germany we have a so called "Elterngeld" (parents' money) so that you can stay at home during the first or the first and a half year. It's not much but it helps. Do you have something of this kind too?

We have the Family Medical Leave Act that allows you to stay home for 12 weeks but that time does not have to be paid. Some women get 6 weeks short term disability pay but not all. So no real help staying home.

![]() How I love you, none can tell In your heart you love another Little darling pal of mine In the night, while you lay sleeping Dreaming of your amber skies Was a poor boy broken hearted Listening to the winds that sigh My little darling, oh how, I love you How I love you, none can tell In your heart you love another Little darling pal of mine ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDgeOnmXUAI ) Good morning, everyone! The color of my tea this morning is a bright reddish brown, the color of good Assam tea from the East India Company. A little rice and a couple of olives for breakfast, and then it's off the greet the day. I've been walking several hours every day, doing my shopping on foot rather than on my bike, and ya know... it feels good to get some exercise every once in a while. Today I'm off to the Voodoo section of town for a doll and some long pins (actually, I'm going to use plastic clothes pins... I really don't want to do real damage...) for "you know who...." But on the other hand, let me reassure "you know who" that Lucas will do just fine in Day Care. He'll have lots of new friends around him, oodles of new stimulants, and constant attention. He will learn so much so quickly you will be astounded! It's YOU that needs the extra hugs right about now, so be sure your husband is available. "Post-partum" is more than just 'delivery.' There are stages to it that last for the next 40 years as he grows into the man you helped shape. You gave him the undivided attention and nurturing that a newborn needs to get a solid start in life. Now he's off on his next adventure... the world! Don't worry. You'll get through it. Most Moms do. Stitchawl |

Thanks all. I know that he will be fine and I am the one wil be a mess. Like all parents, I want to do right by my baby. No matter how much you do right, you worry about the things you could be doing. It is just the way of life. Having places to express worry, happiness, and sadness is a wonderful release.

Sheesh, I go away for a couple of days and y'all degenerate into talking about baby snot.
![]() Well, OK, Stitchawl at least went tea shopping. And came back with 700gm of Keemun. Ah, now that IS a lovely thought. I currently have three different Keemuns here. Peet's Lion Mountain Keemun, a Keemun Hoa Ya 'A' that I got from Capital Tea in Toronto, and the Keemun Xian Zhen that I got from TeaSpring. Interestingly, the Lion Mountain, while not claiming any specific grade, is definitely better than the Hoa Ya 'A' grade. But the best by far is the Xian Zhen. Right now that is my favourite black tea. Dinner tonight at the local tourist restaurant. A good smoked albacore as a main course, and the whole meal set off nicely with an excellent sparkling wine from the Okanagon Valley -- "Blue Mountain". Not one I knew, so a definite plus. |

I'm sure the leaf tea enthusiasts around here would be most reluctant to wear that T-shirt! Nothing in my cup. |
