Sending book from Kindle for Mac to Calibre
I read this thread:
https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=101621 But instead of getting a book from an external device, I want to get it from my Kindle for Mac reader, with the ultimate aim of converting it for Nook. The drag and drop function does not seem work from within KfM to Calibre version 0.8.67. And "Add books" does not recognize Kindle (It's dimmed in the Applications folder). Amazon tells me there is no way to find the book except within the KfM reader. With my mouse, which doesn't have a right- or left-click, I have not found a keystroke combination that works. Hope someone can help. Thanks! |

I think first you need to google Apprentice Alf and friends.

Thanks, Becca. Took your advice, followed Appr. Alf's instructions, added the plugins (no configuration needed for common ebook format plugin), restarted Calibre. But nothing has changed. Drag and drop still doesn't work, and Add books still doesn't "see" my Kindle library.

You need to point calibre to the folder that has your ebooks, not to the Kindle for Mac application. Same thing applies to drag and drop, you need to drag and drop from the folder not from the Kindle for Mac program. Your book should be in a folder called My Kindle Content within your main Documents folder.

Click on Preferences inside the Kindle for Mac program, it will show the location of the content folder.

Thank you so much! It was there. The rest was easy, and my Kindle book is now readable on my Nook.
