If it's not e-ink, and doesn't have the same wonderful readability, but DOES have even longer page turns, why would anyone want this over, say, a cheaper tablet PC? Maybe the display is still better than regular backlit LCDs, but it seems like the advantage had better be big to justify such a price tag.

We need to form a syndicate to purchase the A8 & a bedazzle. We let some gals loose with shiny dots, load it with pretty pictures, & shove it into P. Hilton's purse next to her dog.
With buzz like that, all the hipsters will want one, and the company will either fold from not being able to support the demand, or the price will drop. Anyone know how to run a Dedazzling device? |

Oh man the ergonomics on that thing are terrible. Where are the page turning buttons? In the middle? Ugh.

In my case it's just too reasons: 1- Even like it is, the screen is waaay easier on the eyes than LCD. (the readability is closer to e-ink than to LCD) 2- Battery life it's great. (Even if we get something closer to 30h.) |

I am confused as to the technology of this product. It's not eink and they claim it's lcd without a backlight? Huh? What's an lcd without a backlight? Has anyone else manufactured or prototyped such a thing? Is it lcd technology as we know it without the backlight? And how come such a thing is readable, if there is no backlight shouldn't it come out as several shades of black or almost unreadable?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but at least at this state of technology it seems to combine the disadvantages of LCD with eInk.
Look at the specs of the this device.. http://translate.google.com/translat...&sl=auto&tl=en 2 Seconds switch rate on gray, 10 on color! I mean this is redicolous slow. On the other hand, one power of eInk is that it always looks the same indifferent on the angle you look at it. Altough modern TFTs have a hugh viewable radius, I wonder what view radius this has. I don't expect it to work when I look just over the border of the device as eInk does. |

By the way, thanks for the link to the specs for FLEPia. I will build a wiki page with that data.
