The black one. The matte is kinda nice, but I also kinda liked the touch of brushed metal on the front from the T1.

After spending a bit more time actually reading, I like that the buttons are higher up. It is more comfortable to hold with one hand using the physical buttons than anything since the 505 (and maybe better than the 505). The older buttons felt a bit more professional though.

Just got mine also... what did you do to get Calibre to recognize the T2?

I didn't do anything. Are you on windows? It detects differently than OS X and Linux.

Besides, I don't want to be stuck with something I don't like or something missing - like the possibility to set the sizes of margins, install my own fonts and dictionaries, use my own folder structure for books, etc. And to have support for more book formats: epub, fb2 and txt - of course, most needed, but where are html, rtf, doc and mobi at the very least?.../
From the Sony PRS-T2 user manual, you have the option to change margin, it's called cropping. As to format, it supports natively .epub, .pdf, .fb2 and .txt -- no .doc, .html, .doc, .rtf or .mobi.

Is that different than the T1? If you go into Customize View, there's an option called Crop Page. I've never used it on the T1, but I use a similar setting on ezPDF when reading technical books to reduce the margins. I was thinking this setting might allow me to read those on my T1.

From reading both user manual, I think it's the same functionality in T1 and T2.
T1 Cropping instructions (in .htm)

- Firmware supports Reader Store notifications (periodical delivery?).
- Firmware supports syncing last page read, bookmarks and highlights like the 950 does (about time).
- Calibre is already detecting it with the T1 driver (woo, looks like no work for me).

I'll need to find my old SQLite hack for the recently added list and apply it to this guy as well.
Periodical delivery is key to me... any chance you could let us know if it works?
Thanks, would really appreciate it.

I'll give it a shot. I'm running out of periodicals on their store that I can use as a trial.

The manual says it supports delivery (and that the store notifications are an optional thing above and beyond that), so we'll see.

Thanks a lot for the info. If it's too much trouble, don't worry - I am not in a rush to find out, just curious.

By what you're saying is that limited to periodicals from the Sony store, or does it work with periodicals delivered by calibre? If the latter, then my interest in the T2 will greatly increase

Cheers,
Simon.

Yes...the whole PRS line (except the 350) has a 3.5mm headphone jack and supports mp3 playback

There's no mention of audio in the T2's specs, so I'd add it to the list of exceptions, unless an owner says otherwise.
