It sounds very interesting! But I don't recognize it either. Then again, I've read very few of the quoted books in here.

I finished it, but it was a scary long time ago and well over my head at the time as well. All I remember are the bits on the quay at Lyme Regis.

Frankly, I don't think I like John Fowles. The Magus did nothing for me, either.

I've been thinking of reading The Magus. I enjoyed The Collector and figured I should read something else by Mr. Fowles. I have a feeling The French Lieutenant's Woman would do little for me.

I'm thinking about reading challenges for next year, and a strong contender is to reread books I last read in adolescence (mainly classics) so I can see what I missed in them, before I hit my rapidly approaching dotage. I don't think I'd bother with FLW, though.

poohbear hasn't passed on this, but I'll go ahead anyway.
