If bars can say no to drunk people,
Why won't McDonalds say no to fat people?

Because most fat people are their loyal customers.

Because no one needs to drink, but even fat people have to eat. And because the drunk puts others at risk in a way that the obese don't.

I've known a number of people who have to drink, some to the exclusion of eating; and a few to the exclusion of living.

The good news is that by the time they get to that point, they usually aren't a risk to anyone but themselves.

Tell that to my cousin who lost his 6 month old son when an asshole who been arrested and convicted three prior times for drunk driving hit his car.

Obesity is a different type of problem. We pay a ton for medical care due to obesity.

Both are serious but the only way McDonalds kills my 6 month old cousin is if someone is too busy eating to pay attention to what they are doing driving. A drunk person behind the wheel is far more dangerous.

@ProfCrash; I lost my sister-in-law in a similar manner; she was out jogging and was killed instantly by a repeat offender.

Unfortunately since then my brother-in-law has cut off all links with my wife and her parents...

So sad. It is always the same people over and over again that think it is OK to get in the car after a drink or ten.

I like a drink, but we have rules - any drink at all and no drivey. Pretty simple. That way you don't have to posture about being Ok to drive.
