Give Google a shot. You get 20,000 songs for free and they have fee apps for Android and iOS devices for playback. I have the app on my Galaxy Player and iPod touch.

Only "android" device I have is the Fire. So I like that the music is in there when I want it through amazon. I have a roku and I read that the player will be added to that, so it would be nice to have that.

I ripped some of my older CD's and that is why I am over the limit. I also use the library for the freegal service where you get 3 songs free each week and I just used to upload them right into the Player.

I don't own a mp3 player or such.

You could buy just Cloud Player Premium for your music for $25. You don't have to get both. As For Dropbox. Put your referral link in your sig here and other places like Facebook and Twitter. You get 500MB for every referral up to 16GB. People all the time are signing up for Dropbox who are new to eReaders. You'll have more storage in no time.

Hmm, I was one of those that didn't have the free promo 20G, and I definitely get the separate pricing for the two services myself. Not worth it for me, I'll keep using Google (I found the android player for amazon to be a little annoying when I tried using it, but it's been a little while). I have to admit, it'd be kinda nice if google did the match thing too, because uploading takes forever.

Although that said, Amazon didn't seem to have a lot of luck when "upgrading" the things I had already in cloud player. Only 31 of 194 were upgraded. Although it's possible that everything else was already higher quality, I tend to rip at a pretty reasonable quality level. No way to tell looking at cloud player what the quality level is it appears though, and I'm too lazy to match it up with my hard drive collection.

If the audio is above 256VBR they won't upgrade it. If you want it upgraded then use MP3 Quality Modifier on the file first to lower the bitrate. I did this on a few songs that were from scratch CDs. They then match it with their version.

My free promo ends next week. I'll let it revert to the free version - 5GB and 250 songs. How about the rest of you with this promo; what are your plans?

Nobody's forcing you to do anything. Amazon had an initial promotional offer for cloud storage; the offer's now ended.

I'm fine with staying with the free version. If I outgrow my free storage allotment, I'll start archiving songs on SD cards.

Same. I basically use it as an extra backup for my Amazon purchases and will sometimes use the Android or iThing app to stream that music and that won't change with the free version.

Cloud Player now on Sonos. More devices to be added later this year.

Quote:
At the end of July, Amazon updated its Cloud Player to be in fighting form as an iTunes killer, with a load of new audio features like Scan and Match technology and licensing deals with a number of labels. And at the time, Amazon said that Sonos support would be “coming soon.” Today, that functionality has arrived, with the Cloud Player now working on the Sonos Wireless HiFi System.

This will mean that users who store music in Amazon’s Cloud Player will now be able to stream that music over Sonos’ kit. Amazon says it will be adding more support for more devices later this year. Roku is likely to be next in line, judging from this — although an Amazon spokesperson would not confirm to TechCrunch when the exact date might be.

Well my Promo was to end when yours did but a couple night ago I logged into Cloud Player and got this popup message my Subscriptions expires in two weeks and it gave me two choices either renew or go free and delete my songs till I was at 250. No close or remind me later button. I couldn't access my drive without taking those choices so I renewed. It prorated me for the extra time so it was like $24.32 instead of $25.

I can tell you the match is buggy! You can't really tell which is match and what is uploaded but I figured it out I think. When it goes to import the match songs are immediately added and the progress bar moves up quickly then when it slows down those songs are actually being uploaded. Even out of songs tagged with Amazon music meta data it gets like only half the songs on the first try and maybe more songs if I delete, empty trash and try again.

If songs are more then 256 CBR it auto uploads the songs and doesn't match.

Amazon needs to add what songs were matched and what songs were uploaded. It's a mess! It would be nice to hide Xmas music I purchased last year I had deleted it but it put it back.

I find using Media Monkey's Auto Tag from Web (New Toy for me) and MP3tag using Amazon Metadata I get better matches.

I just went in and got the same popup. I chose "Continue with Cloud Player Free". Nothing changed in my account. I had full access and would be able to do so until the 18th. After that, I would have to reduce the size of my imported songs to 250 or less.

Last week, I imported just under 400 songs to try out the feature (not impressed enough to pay for it). Before then, I had never imported any songs to the Player. So today, I deleted the entire imported folder. I'm back to zero and will keep it that way.

Cool! Does that mean I can play my amazon mp3s through the TV via my Roku?

I didn't want to take a chance and loose the extra 50GB of Cloud space deal. I did the same thing. I upload 500 songs then deleted them. Now I am slowly adding my music to the Cloud Player. I got my 50GB of Cloud Drive but it easier to use Dropbox because the Cloud Drive app is in Java. I hate Java.
