Hmm....
Can't find a libpng14 in either Debian, Ubunta, or on the system I built that QEMU on. Are you sure that is the exact message? There is a libpng14-14.dll in Windows Mono - but that isn't accessible from where I built the application. |

@twobob: FWIW, it builds successfully here (GCC 4.7/Binutils 2.22/Glibc 2.9). The only thing causing trouble seems to be the OpenSSL checks, so there's no SSL support. Lynx also supports gnutls, but I don't have it on hand to check if it plays nice with it
![]() @knc1: PNG's soname are based on the major/minor versions. libpng14 is png 1.4.x. Last edited by NiLuJe; 08-09-2012 at 01:16 PM. Reason: See #198 |

IMHO bin it for a decade

Sufficed to say I am speaking from a 32 bit version of mint. (I too run the Amd64 chipset) The pain was just too much. The horrible and gory details are here and me just giving up occurs around here when I ditched 64 bits altogether and discovered I had a faulty DVD drive just for extra fun ![]() I have abandoned all efforts to x-compile from slackware other than trivial programs that I would write myself. Having used the 64 & 32 bit versions of both OSś now slack and Mint I can report very little difference, sure perhaps my big ram doesn´t hump but having 4 processors rather makes a joke of such considerations. It was only a decade ago two decades ago? (Bejeebers where does the time go?) I had to wait all bloody night to render a fractal. Given the gory and flaky alternative I will be going pure 32 bit native for all x-compilation work for a very long time until someone does a really good job of convincing me otherwise. Life is too short. One note: The Cinnamon process appears buggy in the 13 Mint and makes my machine hang. LxDE does not suffer from this limitation. word to the wise and all that. Cinnamon (which i really like) has seemed to be buggy lately..... Oh well... hopefully my 2GB of Ram can handle it... I've never really liked LXDE..... (the only reason i've ever used it was because it was on my RaspberryPi) EDIT: Just started the download of LM13 32bit... It's gonna take 3 hours..... Last edited by qlob; 08-09-2012 at 11:43 AM. |

@twobob: Oops, I was afraid of that when checking the ELF headers, but was in a bit of a hurry and hoped the K3 bundled at least zlib 1.2.3 :/. Will rebuild with zlib statically linked, and hopefully SSL support
