The only reason I ever used any of this was to be able to re-download purchased mp3s--just like you can re-download e-books. What they should do is simply offer that kind of no-frills capabilty for folks like me who don't want to do anything else.
Have you logged into the player yet? When I logged in I got a message that my past purchases were being imported. If you don't see that I would call Amazon. It could be a bug. You can still download past purchases through the cloud player.

From Amazon's player help page

Quote:
Past Purchases

Music purchased in the Amazon MP3 Store will be automatically saved to Cloud Player. For some songs and albums you previously purchased in the Amazon MP3 Store, Amazon may have rights to deliver those past purchases to Cloud Player without you having to import them. We'll automatically begin delivering your past purchases to the "Purchased" playlist when you log in to Cloud Player; this process will only happen once and may take a few minutes to complete.

After we start delivering your past purchases you'll see a progress dialog box in Cloud Player for Web. You can close this progress dialog box at any time; there will be another pop-up box to notify you when your eligible past purchases have been delivered.

If some of your purchases don't appear after a few minutes, you may import missing purchases using the Amazon Music Importer and they will not count against storage limits.

Your eligible past purchases also include eligible Amazon MP3 Gifts you've received.
So if they don't have the rights that might be why it isn't showing up. In that case just import into the player and it should be matched. Once it on there you can download it whenever you need it. Matching doesn't take long at all.

It did import some mp3s when I first signed in. But I checked my most recent purchases, and definitely the last two albums were not imported--they were not in the Cloud Drive either (I had been manually uploading to the Cloud Drive in the past). Those were the ones I tried to upload to the Drive that were counting against the limits.

Anyway, now everything seems to be in the Player. Amazon does stubbornly think one track from an album isn't theirs but I believe I can live with that.

Thanks for all the help and explanations!

Click the little arrow next to the song and click Fix Incorrect Match. If that doesn't work try editing the tag to match the others from the same album. The process is a bit buggy.

Fix Incorrect Match is grayed out on every song I looked at.

I had already edited the tag for all the songs to match Amazon's info. I also deleted the track and then tried to reimport it. For some reason, it simply is not reading as an Amazon purchase. Odd, but no biggie.

I believe Amazon stores the info in the Comments field. Check that and make sure it says Amazon.com Song ID:123456789 The numbers are the song's number. Each one is unique. If that is removed I don't think Amazon has a way of telling where the mp3 came from.

Hmmm....what if I DON'T WANT THEM ADDED!

Seems a scam to take up storage space and charge you for it to me.

Oh wait....there's no storage for music purchased from Amazon. whew!

P.S. it did give me a message about importing past and I see at least one album that I had not manually placed there.

I guess my problem with this is that I don't want to have to be forced into an annual fee with Amazon. Why that bothers me, I dunno, because every other month I tend to buy a gift card for my Kindle purchases...

Got the same message. Some of my really old purchases (way before cloud player existed) were added, but definately not all.

The number's there. It's just a glitch of some sort.

Previously, with the Cloud Drive, I had the same thing happening--about a half dozen songs purchased from Amazon were not being recognized as such and were counting against storage. Now, it's down to just this one, so that's progress!

You don't have to. I have no intention of subscribing to any of these plans when my promo is over. I'll let it lapse to the free version - 5GB data + 250 non-Amazon songs + unlimited Amazon songs.

I am still confused a little. My confusion is about the price and what I get for it. In the first post of this thread it says if I pay the 24.99 I get 50GB storage plus the 250,000 song cloud player.

But when I go to the section where I would upgrade, it shows the 50 GB storage for $25 and below with a separate check mark it has the premium cloud player listed for 24.99.

To me it reads like I would have to pay 49.99, to get the 50 GB storage and the premium player. $25 plus 24.99.

I wouldn't mind getting both for 24.99. But that is what I am still confused about.

Also, another question. There are some albums and songs that are in the cloud drive. How do I get these over the the player?.

This shouldn't be so befuddling.

That is strange, because my subscription page clearly shows these plans as bundled. Is Amazon fragmenting their customer base by offering different plans to different customers?

Do you currently have a plan? if so, which one? and when does it expire?

Oh, and welcome to the group
