I used to avoid westerns and all things cowboy, but a friend convinced me last year to give them another try (though she's more of a modern romance fan than historical). I read (and loved) the Elizabeth Lowell "Only" series, and have enjoyed the Leigh Greenwood, Sharon Ihle, etc freebies that have shown up through KDP. Do you have any particular recommendations? I usually read medievals and Regencies, but am wanting to branch out a bit.

Made my DANL pick just now, went with the higlander title. I love me some highlanders. Still have two credits, so I may also get the Amelia Grey. I will probably wait until I have read her recent 99 cent title to decide, though. Sometimes her books are very good, and sometimes the historical improbability and inaccuracies are just too much.

My favorite is Jodi Thomas but her good ones aren't in ebooks. Judith Stacy westerns are pretty good. Most of the westerns I've read are in paperback but in ebook you can take a look at Pam Crooks, Carol Finch, Kate Bridges, Ruth Langan, Elaine Levine and Bobbi Smith. I just bought Samantha James Outlaw Hearts which is a western. Lori Copeland older titles before she cleaned them up for inspirational rebirth. Lorraine Heath's older ones. Lori Handeland which you may already have....

OK, I am officially pathetic! This is the only title I didn't already have. I double checked the prices, too, they were free at time of purchase. I have found a book or two I've purchased that have become free later. Always hate when that happens, but at least it wasn't the case with any of these.

I had these on wishlist for a long time. I didn't even put two and two together because the covers are different than the paperback versions. Geesh! I'm the pathetic one. I also own them all now! I was introduced to Rita when she wrote a two part modern western with Debra Webb. Since then I have bought all her HQ ebooks.

Burning Up by Susan Andersen is $1.54 on Kindle.

I love her humor! I am a fan of Susan Andersen, Christie Craig and Jennifer Crusie. I'm always looking for more authors who write this style of writing.
