Introduction

Hello there

I am new to this forum and just bought my Iliad a few weeks ago.
I am currently looking at vocabularies in English. Is there any possibility of integrating an e-book with a vocabulary or is the technology regarding Iliad not yet that advanced.
Any suggestions for a vocabulary is greatly appreciated.

cheers

Jan

She is on Battlestar Galictica now. She is still looking good. Although no outfits like the Xena days on BSG.

OK - I just put up a nice Robert's Rules of Order. Check it out. But that reminds me - I needed it for this book - I can't get the fixed-pitch font to work on my Sony Reader. It works when I display the LRF with the Sony Library software, but not on the actual book itself. Does anybody know what that is all about? I left a question over on one of the technogeek forums many days ago, but no one has responded.

Or, how 'bout - does anyone have a LRF file that is known to correctly display "courier" on the reader itself? Then I could try that and see what happen on MY reader.

You have to embed the font into the LRF. I know this, but don't know how.

All of the information I have says that there are 3 fonts in the reader - "Dutch" a serif font, "Swiss", san-serif, and "Courier", fixed. I can get the Dutch and Swiss to work OK from an LRF file, but not the Courier. Using a RTF file, I can get all three to work. So I know the Courier font is "in there". I wonder how come it won't work with LRF?

I embedded the font, as you suggest, and it works great. But, still, I shouldn't have to do this. You think maybe there is a bug in the LRF-interpreter firmware in the reader?

I also discovered that not all of the characters take up the same width. This sort of makes is useless as a "mono space" font. This is looking more and more like bugs in the PRS firmware. Sigh.

Has anyone read the "Last Kings of Rome" I posted some weeks ago? I would like to encourage you to do so. It is a very quick read - and I find to be VERY interesting. I would like to see if anyone else is fascinated by this. It covers a time in the history of Rome that we are taught very little about - between the founding of Rome (and Remus and Romulus, and all that, that we know about) and the Republic (which is where our teaching/learning usually begins). And yet some important artists and writers (e.g. Shakespeare) thought it was very worthy of consideration.
