![]() I haven't upgraded, and from the sounds of things I think I will wait to see what's coming with the next update. I just wanted to clear one thing up; yes, I was a complainer when the carousel first appeared. My objections were twofold: 1. Clutter - It took up a lot of screen real-estate that forced some useful links into menus (but gave us a quick way to access the shortlist, I will concede that) and it clashed with the design of the book mosaic. In fact, the functionality of the carousel and the mosaic were, or could have been, redundant. 2. Bloat - The 'Recommended' books do take up some of the device's limited memory, and worse, for a function I did not want (or buy into, I thought). My recommendation is likewise twofold: 1. Replace the mosaic and its dubious functionality with an interface (either mosaic, carousel, or something similar) that is user defined in a similar manner to the method used for the carousel in 1.9.17 - e.g. 'Reading', 'Shortlist', 'Recently Added', etc. 2. No more bloat please. In fact, I would like the ads to be completely removed, but that seems less and less likely to happen ![]() P.s. Put the clock back where it was! |

Still caption with each cover with title and author. This simple fix make home screen much or useable with unreadable covers I can't read even with magnifying glass. Already have this with books in library listings.

After reading taming's advice (Thanks taming

) that this is not a proper release, I will NOT be upgrading to 2.0.2.I'll wait until an official release comes out and its been around for a while to make sure it's just as fast and stable as 1.9.17. TBH, I quite like 1.9.17, it's really fast and reliable. I WOULD like the shelves tho, but can wait as long as it takes for the kobo devs to get it right. |

I've now downgraded from 2.0.0 to 1.9.17, and the difference is immediate and substantial. The whole interface is faster, the pageturns on sideloaded epubs are massively so, and I welcomed my homepage Shortlist back with open arms. I'm gonna be sticking here for a while, I think.

It isn't completely removing kepubs when switching accounts. So, you have the cover on the Home screen, but the book can't be opened. And then my Touch did a reset when I tried to open a sideloaded book, and erased all the sideloaded books in the process. |

Nope. Dancing squares forever on startup. Wonder if this is due to the Spanish dictionaries being back in the release. Now heading back to 2.0.0.c... Last edited by murg; 07-22-2012 at 04:35 AM. |

Quite pleased with this upgrade, eventhough the old version + plugin did most of what I wanted. I like having shelves and the settings button is very convenient. I do miss having the shortlist at the bottom of my homescreen though.

I still haven't had a really long play with firmware 2.0, but add me to the list of those thinking of downgrading.

For some reason none of my kepubs are now willing to break a page in the middle of a paragraph. This makes some pages unusually short. It is pretty infuriating, and almost unreadable. Added to the bizarre font size issues, this is not encouraging me to get my books from Kobo. |

DrNefario's post reminded me, a sideloaded ePub broke the page at the top of an internal html <table> (so the entire table was on the next page), where most of the table would have fit on the page.

I've found fewer dead taps since I factory-reset and downgraded, but I have no idea if that will persist. I'm happy to report that the top margin problem is easily fixed with Calibre and a reconvert.

Yeah i was a bit premature in my diagnosis of the unofficial 2.0.2 update, things are still not right. And why isn't my wireless working? Has anyone else had this problem? Wifi is turned on but cannot connect!! I still don't want to lose my shelves because the system of finding books to put in the shelves is so bad it took me over an hour to sort out. All i can say is i really hope and expect that kobo are working around the clock trying to sort this shitty update out because it was a pretty lame release really.. Also the help contact was pitiful, i got an email discussing 'what we spoke about in the call earlier', clearly intended for another confused customer because i never called them at all!

I wouldn't go so far as to reconvert my epubs to soft-fix the top margin issue however when it's a bug in the firmware that's causing it. When the firmware issues *are* addressed, you risk introducing your own formatting problems (unless you never plan to go down the upgrade path of course). |

(For what it's worth, when I did trial the 2.0 release with the epubs with a hard top margin, no new bugs in top-margin became apparent.) |

You do realise that "wireless being on" and "being connected to your chosen wifi network" are two separate things right? I would check your wifi access point settings and re-enter if necessary as FWIW mine were erased post 2.0.0 (as were my favourites).
