Well, ya see boys, yesterday Pshrunk was feeling a bit twitchy, seeing as how the cute pandaborgs were trying to overstuff him with cuteness. It caused some probs with his OS, and they rebooted him with cute lightning bolts. Now he's been upgraded, but really, I think it was more akin to switching from lovely XP to lousy Vista.
BTW, the baby panda in a plastic freezer box on his avatar today looks delicious, but I would personally prefer to remove the fur before freezing. |

I sometimes believe that teenagers are possessed by Alien intelligences that feed off emotional energy. These beings fasten on the unfortunate teens as soon as puberty has got their hormones going, and nourish themselves on the ensuing emotional highs and lows (which they do their best to stimulate). Eventually, when the hormone levels begin to reach a plateau, the aliens leave to find another host. In the meantime, life is very difficult for parents but, sooner or later, the alien parasites will go. It's not your fault: it's just the way things are.My daughter re-emerged as a very nice person once she turned 19. Before that, it was sarcasm, dumb insolence and pointed sighs and shrugs every day. |

To be consistent, one has to think about other products as well. I avoid leather as much as possible (it's quite difficult sometimes). I know people who won't use or wear silk. |

I recently confiscated all cell phones until I cancel the "unlimited texting" feature. The cell phones will now operate on a library basis. You can check one out when you leave the house, and turn it back in when you come back. Failure to answer a call from a parent will result in suspension of cell phone privileges.
These draconian measures implemented due to "texting addiction", atrophy of verbal communication skills, and my wife's unambiguous reaction to getting a "what's for dinner" text message from my son, from his room. She had to stop making dinner to find her phone to see the text, "what's for dinner" from someone who could walk 20 feet and ask in person, but was too lazy. My answers to the inevitable questions, which I'll let you infer, Gentle Reader: 1. Have them over, talk to them in person. 2. I'm not [insert name of friend's parent]'s Dad. 3. Get a job, buy your own. 4. Read a book? Walk the dog? Wash the cars? Play a game? Draw? Play guitar/keyboard/drums? |

![]() Now, you panda eaters, in addition to removing the fur, I think it would be better if you disembowel it first. Meat that's been cooked with the guts still in is... well, I think all meat is yucky, but I suspect most of the rest of you would agree with me on this one. I'd also recommend an oven-safe pan, of course. (Or crock pot, naturally.) Steve, have you tried textured veg. protein in pasta sauces and such? |

I thought I'd mention that I've actually BEEN to the Panda Center in Sichuan, but it was before visitors were allowed to hug the pandas.

Here's a clip from the musical, about the spell they are attempting to undo. Oh, and it was the witch's Greens (from her garden) that were involved. So all you vegetarians can listen too. Last edited by badgoodDeb; 07-16-2008 at 02:07 PM. |
