The only point that has been proven here is mine I'm afraid. Four days and that is the grand total of your "intelligent" reply.
It appears I have to spell this out in smaller words for you. There is no point in coming to these forums and just insulting the developers and product - it adds zero value and just pisses people off. In your particular case your original response on this thread was orders of magnitude worse, because you have suggested that others not bother even trying to make suggestions, on a thread that until that point showed no justification for that slander whatsoever. The point of mine which you clearly lack the intelligence to grasp is that what is needed are specific suggestions for what people would like to see improved and if those are agreeable then in combination volunteers to do the work. If your only intent is to troll, go find another forum. |

Personally I like calibre's UI. Maybe I'm weird. I do use a different icon set (the Metro-style icons that were posted somewhere here a long time ago, but they still work great), and I have my toolbars and layouts all customized, but that's all personal preference. I bet that if there was the ability to package up toolbar layouts, icons, and plugins into a single package that someone could download and apply to calibre and if a number of different layouts and icon packs were available, that would probably go a long way towards quieting a lot of the "Calibre is ugly!! !! !! uu!!" outcry. That does nothing for the folks who think a book manager has to have a faux-wood bookshelf display with the book covers face-out (who sets up a real bookshelf that way?). IMHO those are users calibre could do without. As long as a faux-bookshelf view is never added, I honestly can live with any other UI modifications or changes (or lack thereof) ![]() |

I could have used suggested several other applications as examples - Firefox, Chrome, Zoner, idImager, VS Studio etc - but they are not Open Source Apps written in Python. BR |
