Or, if you use Calibre, just load the books on to the Kobo, unplug, plug back in, and resend the book to the Touch. Usually once, but maybe two times. This always works for me, and occasionally (but definitely not often) the white margins even disappear after I've simply closed the book and turned the Touch on and off.

Really, do not try some sort of workaround if you are successfully running 2.0. You will not get faster pages changes on ePUB, the wrong cover thing is the same, the sideloaded font situation is still truly icky.

So the take home message here is that the firmware 2.0 currently available is the one that will be distributed and we can expect a 2.0.1 at some point to fix the speed/cover/sideloaded font issues? I can live with that so long as I can read again.

Yes, RareBird. I imagine that the problems with the installation the developers have been working on took precedence over our fixes, but I am sure we will get them.

Taming, do you know how to access any shelves you might create? You were on the Beta Team, correct?

When having created three custom shelves, none of them show up on the SHELVES page. Just the original CREATE SHELVES mask.

Do a sync, RP. and see if that helps. I seem to remember other folks saying that helped, but I don't have an answer from my own experience or from any discussion in the beta group.

If you haven't turned the device off and then on again, you might try that first. I know there are people who have found a solution to this, but I never had the problem.

I just got the new v2.0.0 update build and two functions seem to be broken right out of the chute.

1. I create shelves and they do not show up on the Shelf List.

2. I press the 'tack' icon for to add to my Wish List, and nothing shows up on the Wish List, with it still showing (0) added.

Thank you very much Taming for the quick comeback! Wow...I received the latest v2.0.0. today and nothing but problems.

The download went fine, the restart did also...but...I have found already two 'broken' features in the latest update. I mentioned them just before I answered you. I'll try out your suggestions, but seriously, I can't believe that Kobo is sending out software in this condition. And...this with the second attempt at v2.0.0. Truly, not impressed at all.

Ok...here goes your suggestions....wish me luck, lol!

to fix the shelve issue you need to sign-out from the kobo, and the re-sign in.
I've had the same issue, and fixed it this way.
BUT you'll loose your short-list, reading stats, and book read/unread/last read page status (at least this happen to sideloaded epub)

I had these same two problems on my KT after upgrading, plus the Shortlist never showing up. I could go into the Library and tap the Heart icon, and it would go dark to indicate it had been added to my Shortlist, but there was no Shortlist actually generated. And after a reboot, the hearts were unselected again.

What fixed it for me was going into Settings / Account, logging out of my account and then logging back in and letting it sync anew. I lost all my reading stats and bookmarks (dayam!!!), but these other problems were all sorted.

I don't think that's been changed in 2.0.0. I haven't loaded more than 4 books at once, but I've loaded 3 at a time and the book I'm currently reading did get moved to the smaller icon of the carousel... So I'm guessing if you load 5 you still push your currently-reading book back to the library... It's a good point though, that shouldn't really happen.

Huh, that is very strange indeed! What would that do? I'm assuming the code has to be correct for the cover to display correctly... And why would loading a book onto the KT several times change the way it is displayed? Weird! Thanks for your suggestion. I've never seen margins disappear after closing a book and restarting... I think I'll try (but so strange!)

I have no idea how it works - it's a solution I somehow came upon serendipitously a while back. But yeah, it works like a charm

If you have Calibre, you can also "unzip" from within there. Right-click on the book you want to edit from Calibre library and say "Tweak book". Then a window opens where you can select "explode book" which basically means "unzip". A window (windows explorer or finder window in OS X) should open showing you the contents of the book. You can find the cover image in there (usually cover.jpg or cover.jpeg). The code should be added to the .xhtml file that contains the cover page info. That's usually the titlepage.xhtml.

After you're done editing the inside of the book, you can go back to calibre and say "Rebuild book" from the same window that you got to explode the book.
