There is another addition in between and another addition to the side so those thick inside walls were, at one point, outside walls. It has it's pros, too. I can only hear my father's snoring, faintly, in summer when the windows are open. If there wasn't a 2 foot wall between my bedroom and my parent's (which is two floors high) I probably wouldn't sleep much .

It also means that each "section" is build at a slightly different level than the ones before (which also varies per floor) so there are a lot of 1 to 4 step stairs in the house.
Your home sounds old and big enough to have secret passages. If it were mine, I'd make some out of all that excess wall space. Then I'd hang some portraits in the main rooms with the eyes cut out for viewing while sneaking around in the hidden corridors.

Not secret passages but a secret hiding place it has. As I've said my parents bedroom is 2 floors high but some time during WW2 they put in a lower ceiling to create a hiding place accessible from the attic. I don't know if they only kept valuables there or hid people (wouldn't surprise me knowing my family's attitudes).

Watching a great take-off clip -- "The Star Wars That I Used to Know" -- an obvious re-do of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know". It's VERY well done!

I wouldn't want it to be said that I could be had for a slice of cake...

looks like I am finally ready to go home and the flights are filling fast! I have to talk to the boss before I book, and they are over at the clinic getting his hand attended to after a crazy(now deceased dog) bit him. It is nearing my bed time and I can't go to my room until they get home because I have to stay here with their special needs son.

Also I have had two glasses of red. :drunk:

The business class is still available at $1900. hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

What a day! And I thought yesterday was hectic (had to go and find a broken down car and tow them back here - good work for the accountant huh?)

Tonight I heard thunder in the distance - so I ran out to mow quickly! Is it wrong to love your lawnmower? I truly love my Fiskars push reel mower - it just sails through any height of grass & weeds - even goes under the bushes! This is only the 2nd time I've used it - right after I bought it the 100+ F heat wave struck - and the lawn turned a crispy brown. Now there's green stuff out there again!

We recently got some laser pointer/pens to sell in the store. I took one because I thought Lexie would like to play with the red dot. She doesn't like it. She's scared, I tried several times but she runs away from it.

Nikita loved it, if she was in one of her moods to annoy you you just turned on the red dot for a couple of seconds and after that she would spend at least 15 minutes searching where it went.

Doing laundry and avoiding the fact that the lawns need to be mowed.

I swear one of these days I will rip it all out and replace it with rocks or concrete.

Do what our neighbours did and put down Astro Turf. Never needs any maintainance. But don't try running barefoot through it .
