Hi all, I'm back after attending a quilting retreat in the deep north aka Townsville Qld and I gather I've missed the Big Event!. Congratulations ProfCrash and best wishes to you and your baby boy. Off to get a tonic water as I've come home with a cold and sinus problems and am taking lots of drugs so don't think alcohol is a good idea.

![]() But you are absolutely right. Having suffered a catastrophic failure a couple of years ago due to lightning damage, I don't want to go there again. I use DropBox for all my critical stuff, so don't have to worry about that. Everything else gets backed up as and when I remember. Maybe I should take a leaf out of VydorScope's book and look to automate it. Coffee in my cup. |

I just made a great fruit smoothie with raspberries, peaches, and yogurt! Ice and milk, a quick turn in the blender... Yum!

I seem to have developed an internal clock that wakes me up just before he does for his night time feelings. Every 2 1/2 hours. Yawns
Ahhh another quilter. I know a few. Baby boy has several that I feel a little bad using for tummy time because they are very nice. |

Never done any quilting, though I'm a confirmed knitter still, and used to do a fair amount of crewel work in my youth. But quilting has always been something I'd like to do, but never managed to actually get started in.
Ah, well. Not going to start in this heat. We're up to the upper 20's today. Finally. (Yes, I know, that's NOTHING compared to what ProfCrash and others have had to deal with, especially since it isn't humid. ) Diet Coke. Bad. Very bad. |

Hopslam. Hubby bought four six packs for me when it was sold in January. As soon as I finished feeding the little guy I grabbed one. Yummy.

![]() The sky is starlit and the time is right And still you're tellin' me you have to go Before you leave there's something you should know Yeah something you should know babe I've seen you smiling in the summer sun I've seen your long hair flying when you run I've rnade my mind up that it's meant to be Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me Out where the rivers meet the sounding sea You're high above me now, you're wild and free ah but Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me Someday lady you'll accomp'ny me ![]() ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_n86...eature=related ) Good morning, all! What beautiful morning! Fresh, hot "Royal Breakfast" tea thanks to the East India Company, and Belgian Waffles with sliced strawberries and cream to start out the day, and then it's off to seek my fortune in the world. Or actually, off to the Electronics shop to buy a new pair of headphones, which is about the same, I guess. This is where being deaf has its advantage. I can be satisfied with the cheaper headphones. I don't have to look for a headset with extended frequencies. I can't hear them anyway! I need a new pair of the 'cover yur ears completely' headsets that I only use while sitting on the couch meditating. Yesterday afternoon I created a new soundscape with the sounds of a small forest brook, gentle wind in the trees, several different birds chirping, some horses whinnying, a few dogs barking now and then hundreds of meters away, a tree frog, and a quiet cricket, all on a summer's day. These sounds only come in every few minutes and always in random patterns. Sounds just as if I'm sitting outside the stables in the woods... a place I lived for a few summers when I was in my 20's. Very peaceful. I may or may not add an Alpha or Theta frequency semi-subliminal sound once in a while as my mood strikes me! It's better than acid. ![]() (For those that like this sort of thing, I use THIS program to create these soundscapes. ) Stitchawl Last edited by Stitchawl; 07-10-2012 at 07:40 PM. |

Welcome back and I hope you enjoyed yourself even though you came home with something extra. I hope you feel better soon. ![]() I keep opening the door hoping for a little breeze. It is still in the hundreds here and we at least get a little breeze in the afternoon, but today and upcoming days the weatherman says it will be absent. Cool tea in my cup and a bottled water chaser. I think I'll go raid the freezer for a frozen chocolate covered banana. ![]() |
