Actually when I said capacity, I was looking at RAM, but I apparently picked up the specs from the 8gb Nook. Looks like the 16gb's are the same... I live in a rural area, on the fringe of wireless service - so need something smaller than my laptop to toss in my purse and head for the library or a hot spot to download anything larger than 10-12mb. But if the cost is the same, why not get most features available...
Better resolution is a 'biggie' at my age.

well at $239(price i saw at costco today) the 8gb Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7" is a much better value/bang for the buck than the nook. It does have an SD slot so storage is up to 32gb, its slightly smaller and lighter, you can add the nook app and every other reading app available to android and its on ICS instead of ginger bread. oh and its got an ir blaster so its a universal remote. im leaving tons of stuff out too

Yes, that's the tablet I have. It's excellent. I use mine every day.

Yes. A Low-res front cam and a higher-res rear one. On the camera app there's a button which toggles between the two cameras. I guess the front one is primarily for video conferencing.

The Tab or the Nexus? Both have GPS.

thanks i think its quite the bargain at the price. it might be more of a bargain than the Nexus 7.

A front cam has far more value to me than a rear cam on a tablet. Since the Nexus has no card slot, the Tab is a possibility; but I'll wait a bit to see if anything else drops soon. In the mean time, I'm watching it at Costco to see if they drop the price. In-store, it sells for $240; and I believe they include a free case.

May I ask why? You're obviously a devilishly handsome fellow, but is taking photographs of yourself really that important?

Or are you thinking about apps like Skype?

Tablet + front cam = something you can Skype to your friends/family while travelling.
Tablet + back cam = low quality, unwieldy camera

Skype - doing photos/videos with a 7" (or larger) tablet is something I won't do.
