I'm involved with (though not currently a corporate member of) a couple of 501(c)(3) non-profit entities. They do their best to make money, but the money left oevr after paying corporate expenses gets disbursed to various charitable causes. Non-profit incorporation is a legal means of seperating the operation from the folks running it, and protecting those involved. Mind you, that protection is not ironclad: play fast and loose enough, and a court can choose to "pierce the corporate veil", and go after the individuals named in the incorporation papers. ______ Dennis

To be honest, I still have that reaction, though I stand in awe of what you've been able to accomplish thus far. If you knew back when you were first planning the venture what you've learned since about what is involved in doing it, would you still have done it? ______ Dennis

Our business model was flawed. Live and learn. US credit card laws are strange and wonderful things.

That's a difference between American and British English, Derek. In British English, companies are generally referred to in the plural and hence we use "are" rather than "is", as is the case in American English. You say "NAEB is...", we say "NAEB are...".

Just a note to say I've already read several novels on my Cybook and although I was a bit impatient to get it... wow, am I satisfied! I'm really loving the device. Thanks again to you guys who are making this available at such a good price! And the cover is excellent... well worth the wait. Again, thank you.

I'm seriously considering getting a new cover for my engineering sample. They are a lot better.
